Naturopathic Medicine: Answers to Questions; Is It Right For You?

Our team of Naturopathic physicians, at Amber Wellness Group, use a patient centered approach to assist you, the patient, in setting clear health goals and priorities.  Our doctors have a high degree of curiosity and patience, it takes time to unravel each patient’s mystery.  Our goal is to understand what sets the stage for your symptoms and/or your disease process to manifest.  When you have a provider that walks with you, listening, educating and helping you determine and change your patterns you are more likely to succeed.

How do we do this?

We will sit with you for an hour, asking questions and listening to you.  We will offer a plethora of lab testing that is appropriate for your symptoms, to help rule in, rule out, or further identify the contributing factors to the underlying or root cause of your condition.

Did you know that Naturopathic physicians are primary care physicians?

We are trained in all the traditional medical modalities, as well receiving a holistic education in botanical medicine, homeopathy, nutrition, mind-body medicine, mental health, exercise and movement, physical medicine, IV therapy, hydrotherapy, bio-identical hormone replacement therapy as well as pharmaceutical prescription management. For every condition someone presents with, naturopathic physicians have a wide breadth of treatment options to choose from in order to best meet our patient’s individual needs.  We are able to understand, interpret, and access the best combination of evidence-based medicine to our patients.  Our toolbox is abundant, with so many possibilities; we continuously learn, research and strive to offer the best possible treatment options.

Are Naturopathic Physicians Licensed?

Yes, in 22 states, DC, Virgin Islands and Puerto Rico.  Here in the state of Oregon, naturopathic medicine is a licensed medical degree.  Insurance covers our expertise and we are able to prescribe medication.  Many believe these three characteristics define a “real” doctor.  So yes, licensed naturopathic physicians are real doctors and so much more.

Sound too good to be true?

It is not!  We LOVE what we do and we believe in what we do.  Dr. Lisa Dickinson has been licensed and in practice since 2003 and Dr. Meghan Bennett since 2014.  They are an amazing team, the two of them are passionate about women’s health and are thought leaders in women’s pelvic floor and sexual health.  We would love to meet you and support you in your health care journey.  So, no matter where you are at with your health, we will meet you right there!
